Graphic designer, Mediamaker, Artist

My name is Liene Banga, I am 20 years old and I live in Sleeuwijk. I attend the Grafisch Lyceum in Utrecht. I am currently taking the Media Design Progression Level 4 MBO course, which takes about 2 years. Before this, I followed the Creative DTP training for 2 years, level 3 MBO.

My work within the course is creating apps, animations and all-round media within the Adobe Programs. Most of what I’m working on at the moment is creating artwork & vehicle photography

Within school, I started learning the Adobe programs. It took me a while to figure them out, but I ended up using some of them quite a lot. The Adobe programs that I enjoy using the most are InDesign and Illustrator. With InDesign, I can create posters, flyers, and magazines, which I enjoy designing from time to time. Illustrator is primarily used for illustrations, which I use to create creative texts and graphics that I can then import into my InDesign projects.

Aside from that, I also enjoy working in 3D Blender because it offers a deeper understanding of what you are creating. Right now, I’m working on a new project I assigned to myself: creating a full-body character that I plan to later use in a virtual reality game.

Outside of school, I keep myself busy with art and designing characters in a specific style.

The theme I enjoy using for my characters is cyberpunk streetwear and tech wear. For this theme, I often draw inspiration from the style of Tokyo, especially it’s streets that light up with vibrant colors at night. I incorporate neon colors into my designs to give my characters more life and confidence, helping them stand out.

Photography

I am currently learning about photography and videography. During my studies, I became more interested in photography, as well as the subjects I want to photograph. The types of photography I enjoy are product and vehicle photography. I mostly focus on taking shots of convertibles or cars with interesting, uniquely designed models. For these shots, I aim to give my photos more depth and a mysterious vibe. To achieve this, I often use darker settings to enhance that atmosphere.
