Stress
The assignment was about picking a theme and searching for photos and refrences of pictures or drawings that expresses the theme. The chosen subject was about stress, and I had to make collages and different styles off the theme. The chosen theme was stress, because many people struggle with it, and I wanted to make something that represented the situation.
I also struggle with a lot of stress, I stress very easily over something that you shouldn’t be worrying about. This year I am trying to improve myself by not worrying about small situations anymore. I have my family & friends along my side to help me.
This is my favourite design out of the other 2 themes I had to create ”Insecure – Body dismorphia”, ”Anxiety”. Because this one felt more connected to my own problem. I wanted to show how I felt if I was worrying & stressing about something. And I was curious to know if any other people & students are struggling with the same thing as me.
Why I chose:
Pill: The image of the pill represents as a bubble and medication. Some people have to take medicine to calm themselves down or from a bashing headache. The bubble is actually you’re personal bubble, you are stuck in your own mind and thoughts. You’re trapped and you can’t get out.
Flowers: I chose the flowers for myself, because if I look at the flowers it makes me think back at home. Back at my own house and my family, we have a garden full of flowers and it makes me feel at ease.
Scribble: The reason why I chose for the scribbles is that you’re not yourself anymore when you start worrying and let that stress built up inside your mind, and making you feel tired and lost in your own mind. You cannot think straight anymore or you get easily distracted.

Insecurity

The chosen theme was insecurity, because many people struggle with it, and I wanted to make something that represented the situation.
Collages
During the making of the collages, I had to cut out the refrences or photos that I had to collect that represents the theme and create 3 models and choose out 1 of them that would be more accurate to the theme.
Why I chose:
Scribble: The reason why I chose the scribble is because her/his mind is full of thoughts about her body positivity. She/he worries a lot about her/his weight.
Mirror: The mirror represent as how she/he looks at theirself and how they feel about their body.
Body: I chose for the body because I was going for the theme insecurity of body dismorphia. A lot of people struggle with body dismorphia, and I wanted to show a mental illness that characterised by constant worrying over a perceived or slight defect in appearance.

Anxiety

Why I chose:
Chains: I chose the chains because it made me feel like as you were stuck in your own bubble and scared to get out of it even though there weren’t any problems outside of their own personal bubble.
Books: The books are represented as the words and thoughts that is stuck inside of their head, and can’t let them go or stop thinking about it.
Crying character: The refrence of the girl I chose, was for a main character. But also how she felt inside of the chains and books.
